Axons Mobility

Devices

The connected IoT device for shared scooters, bikes, mopeds and cars

A device on each vehicle that lets your team lock, unlock and limit it remotely, detects harsh riding and crashes on the vehicle itself, and reads NFC cards. It comes from the same team as the Axons Mobility console and rider app, so there is one team to call. Try the platform free for 15 days on your own vehicles.

Remote Control

Control any vehicle without sending someone out

Lock, unlock, limit speed or sound the alarm from the console. Which controls are available depends on the vehicle.

Lock and unlock

Lock or unlock a vehicle from the Live Map or its own page in the console, without sending anyone out.

Ignition

Switch the ignition on or off remotely.

Headlight

Turn the headlight on or off remotely.

Throttle and speed limit

Set throttle and top-speed limits. Speed-limit zones can also slow a vehicle on their own.

Alarm

Sound the alarm to help find a vehicle or put off someone tampering with it.

Anti-theft

Anti-theft protection, backed by towing detection that notices a vehicle being taken away.

Driving & Crashes

Driving behaviour and crashes, measured on the vehicle

The device works out what happened on the vehicle itself, not on the rider's phone, so the record does not depend on which phone a rider carries.

100

motion readings a second, on every vehicle

Harsh riding

Harsh braking, sharp corners, swerves and speeding, detected on the vehicle.

Crashes only at road speed

An impact counts as a crash only at road speed, so potholes do not raise false crashes.

Potholes, tilt and towing

The device also notices potholes and speed bumps, a tilted vehicle and one being towed.

Small summaries, low data costs

Instead of streaming raw readings, it sends a small summary each minute to keep mobile data costs low.

Scores in your console

Results feed driving scores, harsh events per 100 km and the Safety pages in the operator console.

NFC Cards

A built-in NFC card reader

Riders tap a card on the vehicle to start or end a ride, which suits staff, students or members who should not need a phone to ride.

Card reader built in

No extra reader to fit. Riders tap a card on the vehicle to start or end a ride.

You choose what a card opens

In the console, set which vehicles each card can open.

Every tap on record

See every tap with the reason it was allowed or refused.

A reader that recovers on its own

A watchdog brings the reader back if it stops responding, and reader faults are reported.

Security

Security built into every device

Every device has its own encryption keys, and a new device cannot connect until it is approved.

Security & privacy

Its own keys

Every device has its own encryption keys, not a key shared across the fleet.

Encrypted messages

Messages between the device and the cloud are encrypted.

Replayed messages refused

A copied message sent again is rejected, so an old message cannot be played back.

Keys rotated or revoked remotely

Change a device's keys, or cut it off, without touching the vehicle.

Approval before connecting

A new device waits for approval before it can connect.

No Gaps

No gaps in the record, even without signal

When a vehicle passes through a dead zone, the device keeps its positions and sends them later.

  • Positions are stored on the device while there is no signal
  • They are sent when the signal returns, with their original timestamps
  • Routes do not show holes where the signal dropped
  • A compact data format keeps mobile data costs low

Diagnostics

Find out what is wrong before anyone drives out

Many device problems can be checked remotely, before anyone drives out to the vehicle.

  • Reboot the device or reset its modem remotely
  • Pull a diagnostics dump and the device's details
  • Log codes you can read, and the AI assistant can explain what they mean
  • Overview, map, trips, telemetry, health, logs and config tabs for each device in the console
  • Adding a device runs a live check of its SIM, GPS, server link and heartbeat
  • A status LED on the device for the technician on site

Vehicles

Fits many vehicles, not just one model

Adapters for several vehicle makes and a CAN bus connection let the device fit a range of vehicles. Tell us your models and we will confirm the fit before you order.

  • Mopeds and cars

What does the Axons Mobility connected device do?

It sits on each shared vehicle and links it to the Axons Mobility console over mobile data. Your team can lock and unlock it, switch the ignition and headlight, set speed limits and sound the alarm. It reads motion 100 times a second to detect harsh riding and crashes, has a built-in NFC card reader, and uses its own encryption keys.

Which vehicles does the device work with?

Shared e-scooters, e-bikes, mopeds and cars. It connects through adapters for several vehicle makes or through the CAN bus. Which controls are available depends on the vehicle, so tell us your models and we will confirm the fit before you order.

Can we keep the trackers we already have from another maker?

Devices from other makers can be added in the console by vendor and IMEI. Tell us which models you run and we will tell you what they support.

How does crash detection avoid false alarms from potholes?

The device reads motion 100 times a second on the vehicle itself and counts an impact as a crash only at road speed. Potholes and speed bumps are detected as their own events, so they do not raise false crashes.

How much does the device cost?

Connected devices: Quoted per order. Our device for scooters, bikes, mopeds, cars and carts. Already have devices? Ask us about connecting them. The platform is $8 per vehicle per month with every feature included.
