How It Works

From recorded route to first ride in four steps

You set up the route and the rules once. After that, riders hail carts and the platform runs each ride.

  1. Record the route

    The cart records the route and scans the site. The map riders see is drawn from that scan, so you need no street map.

  2. Name stops and set the rules

    Name each stop and set pickup and drop-off rules, wait times and service hours. Run it as a loop, both ways or one way, with one route per fleet.

  3. Riders hail or book in the app

    Invited riders open the map of stops, find the nearest pickup, and hail a cart now or book one ahead.

  4. The cart drives. Axons Mobility handles the rest.

    The cart's onboard computer drives the route. The platform runs boarding, the ride and the fare, and shows the cart live on the map.

Shuttle mode lives inside your branded rider app. Riders can see where the cart is and how long they have to board.

Safety By Design

Safety rules built into the cart and the ride

The boarding timer runs on the vehicle itself. The cart can refuse a route it cannot drive, and the rider sees why in the cart's own words.

The cart checks the route first

The cart checks that the route is drivable before it takes a ride. If it says no, the rider sees the cart's own reason, word for word, not a vague error.

The boarding timer runs on the cart

The boarding window runs on the device on the vehicle. If the signal drops, it still ends the ride and cuts power when time runs out.

No link, no new rides

If the cart's link to its onboard self-driving computer drops, the cart stops accepting rides.

Private, invite-only fleets

Self-driving fleets are always private. Only riders you invite can book a cart.

Free or a flat fare, set per fleet

The boarding timer runs on the device on the cart, so it still ends the ride and cuts power when time runs out, even without a signal. Separately, if the cart's link to its onboard self-driving computer drops, the cart stops accepting rides.

When will self-driving shuttles be generally available?
